We arrive in the UK with two bags each (one hand a one carry on), all went well. Very interestingly when we came through UK (Stansted) airport and they didn't even look at passports or Visa's. Freda holding an EU passport that was my expectation but I am on a New Zealand passport. Oh well. We make our way out to our accommodation and the place is great, nice place (not to detract from it at all but it's free). We have great TV, internet, kitchen, nice bed, central place and simply a nice home (not a hotel which is an instant bonus). Getting there was easy was one train (above ground) from Stansted Airport to a tube station and then one tube ride to our stop. This issue really was dealing with two bags each. A nice guy (not me) gave Freda a hand up the stairs with one of her bags.

Got some appointments today so go to have a shower, turn on the shower (electric pump and heating of the water, it's a Europe thing that I wont bother to explain), nothing, bugger. Sponge bath, oh joy.

Went to see one of the recruiters I met at the Sydney Travel Expo and it basically turns out that he wanted to take 15 percent for the first 65 business days and 10 percent every day after that for ANY job that I got all because of the way he advertises (will publish my contact details). Also expects me to come in to his office and cold call etc for work. Why on earth would I pay someone 15 percent of my income for sitting at a laptop and calling jobs when I am doing all the work. I can do that myself for free...

I finished up there and Freda has finished with her interview so we both go to catch up with a friend or two from Sydney (Elwin and Tim) that we know are here. We all sit in the pub a down a few pints and then off to Wagamama for a meal. Another quick pint and then need to head home. Manage to find our way home on the tube a little inebriated. Great night out and nice to see a familiar face.
